A Multi-Controller Placement Strategy for Hierarchical Management of Software-Defined Networking

Software-Defined Networking (SDN) is a new architecture with symmetric/asymmetric network structures that separates the control plane of devices from data plane, and Controller Placement Problem (CPP) critical management problem in SDN. The main research content CPP to determine number location controllers placed topology, as well connection relationship between switches. However, traditional solutions based on may not be efficient meet increasing requirements SDN applications. In order improve viewpoint hierarchical management, this paper considers multi-objective optimization architecture. Thus, then proposes multi-controller placement strategy an improved Harris Hawks Optimization algorithm. Firstly, local controller load limited, Sin chaotic map introduced initialize scheme. total latency network, reliability node, failure rate link cost are seriously considered when placing controllers. Secondly, Cos nonlinear function added global search. A dynamic adaptive weight factor used smooth switching approach search search, so enhance ability. Then, Cauchy variation perturbation obtained scheme strengthen diversity schemes, Pareto front finally solved. topology simulation three real large-scale networks shows proposed strategy, algorithm, has more robust advantages comparison other algorithms.
